Eligibility Criteria For Australia Awards scholarships

Specific criteria for candidates from eligible African countries include:
– Must be at least 25 years old by 1 February 2025.
– Must have a minimum of 5 years of post-graduate work experience in a field related to their area of study.
– Must hold citizenship in one of the specified African countries and apply for the scholarship from their country of citizenship, unless affiliated with an African Regional Organization or on diplomatic mission for their home country.
– Should not currently hold or be pursuing a Master’s degree or equivalent.
– Must have obtained an undergraduate degree equivalent to an Australian undergraduate degree.
– Should not have previously been granted a long-term Australia Award.
– Must demonstrate a minimum English language proficiency level of 6.5 in IELTS with no section scoring below 6.0 (or an equivalent TOEFL score of at least 84 with minimum scores in all subtests, or a PTE Academic score of 58 with no communicative skill score below 50). Scores must be valid as of 1 January 2025, except for candidates whose first language is English and have been educated in English.
